The Hawai‘i chapter of the AATSP sponsored the Argentina in Hawai‘i Opening Reception, a series of events that brought Argentine folkloric dance and music to Hawai‘i with Master dance and cultural experts Lissi Entre Ríos and Daniel Contreras from the IFC Artes in Mendoza, Argentina.
On October 24th, the Infusión Latina de Campbell Chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica held its induction ceremony welcoming new members at James Campbell High School. Maestras Rosa Bell and María Nuñez organized the celebration which was attended by district and school administrators, members of the AATSP, and the community. ¡Enhorabuena! Felicidades! A special thanks to Maestra Mayra Hickling, Maestro Kevin Sledge, and the students from Waipahu High School for their help. And our thanks to Coquitos Latin Cuisine for their generous food donation

Thank you to all of you who attended our Noche Española event–¡fue fenomenal! In addition to the great food and drinks, we learned about scholarships and awards for travel to Spain and shared tips for writing conference proposals. Hopefully many of you will consider attending and/or presenting at the 2018 Conference in Salamanca, Spain!
Ocho apellidos vascos Screening and Talk at SWCOLT
On Saturday March, 5th, the Hawai‘i AATSP chapter hosted a screening of the hit Spanish film Ocho Apellidos Vascos with a talk by Spanish film expert, Dr. Eric Thau. We also used the event as a meet and greet for our members with members from the Board of Directors and National Office. Executive Director, Emily Spinelli, Editor-in Chief of Hispania, Sheri Spaine-Long, and Conference Coordinator, Debra Nigohosian were in attendance.
New Member Potluck and Meeting
On November 5th, the Hawai‘i Chapter hosted a New Member Potluck. Members were encouraged to bring their favorite dish as well as a Spanish or Portuguese teaching friend to learn about the AATSP.
